- Safety (OHS) requirements are followed in accordance with safety plans and policies.
- Signage and barricade requirements are identified and implemented.
- Environmental requirements are identified for the project in accordance with environmental plans and statutory and legislative authority obligations and applied.
- Select tools.
- Tools are selected consistent with needs of the job.
- Tools, including leads and hoses, are checked for tags, serviceability and safety and any faults are reported to supervisor in accordance with workplace requirements.
- Power tool guards, retaining bolts, couplings, gauges and controls are checked and maintained in accordance with manufacturer recommendations.
- Equipment is selected to hold, position or support material for hand tool application where applicable.
- Pre-operational checks, including lubricants, hydraulic fluid and water, are completed in accordance with manufacturer recommendations.
- Use tools.
- Power and compressed air supply are connected to work area.
- Start up and shut down procedures are performed in accordance with workplace procedures.
- Tools are safely and effectively used according to manufacturer recommendations and workplace requirements.
- Tools are safely located when not in immediate use.
- Select plant and equipment.
- Functions and limitations of plant and equipment used in roof tiling are identified.
- Plant and equipment are selected consistent with hazard minimisation and needs of job.
- Method of operation of plant and equipment is identified.
- Plant and equipment are checked for safety, and faults are reported to supervisor.
- Requirements for guarding, cut-off switches, retaining bolts, couplings, gauges and controls are identified and checked.
- Requirements for operating and using plant and equipment are recognised and adhered to.
- Use plant and equipment.
- Material is located and held in position for application where applicable.
- Plant and equipment are safely and effectively used in accordance with workplace requirements.
- Plant and equipment are safely located and switched when not in immediate use.
- Plant and equipment are inspected, maintained and tagged and any faults are reported in accordance with workplace procedures.
